Steel Classifications
Cold Rolled Commercial Quality - Class I (CRCQ)
Jackson Tube Service produces our cold rolled tubing from class I material. This material is used where there are critical surface quality and gauge requirements. Material has a "cold rolling" process at the steel mills, and lends itself well to bending and fabricating applications. It is used in a wide variety of applications.
Material stocked in Gauges 18-11 in 1010.
Hot Rolled Pickled & Oiled (HRPO)
Jackson Tube Service uses Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled Steel, not "black" as some tube mills. The HRPO product has been cleaned of scale and rust, and features a more homogenous surface. HRPO steel lends itself well to painting applications.
Material stocked in Gauges 16-11 in 1010.
Plating Quality (PQ)
Plating Quality is similar to CRCQ Class I above, PQ material receives an additional pass through another set of specially ground rolls, which give the product a smooth, tight, matte finish. Material is used primarily in Chrome Plating Applications, where surface finish is critical.
Material stocked in Gauges 18-11 in 1010.
High Strength Low-Alloy Steel (HSLA)
High Strength, Low-Alloy Steel allows a customer to reduce both the weight and the cost of their product, without sacrificing its strength properties. Frequently a HSLA steel of a lighter gauge may be used instead of using a heavy wall 1010. Carbon Steel.
Jackson Tube Service stocks Cold-Rolled and Hot-Rolled HSLA steel ranging from a 40,000 pound PSI yield to a 60,000 pound PSI yield. Other gauges and strength classifications, including Boron grades may be available on inquiry.
